SS Rajamouli's directorial blockbuster 'RRR,' starring

Jr. NTR, got a shout-out as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recently introduced a new category that is "Achievement in Stunt Design" to celebrate excellence in action choreography. This addition will debut at the 100th Oscars in 2028, recognizing films released in 2027. To mark the announcement, the Academy shared a special poster featuring SS Rajamouli’s 'RRR,' 'Mission: Impossible,' and 'Everything Everywhere All at Once,' which shows the cinematic stunt mastery.
SS Rajamouli, on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), expressed his excitement, calling it a long-overdue acknowledgment of stunt work after a century of filmmaking. He credited stunt experts like David Leitch and Chris O’Hara for their contributions to achieving this milestone and thanked the Academy’s leadership for recognizing the importance of action choreography. Rajamouli also shared his pride in seeing 'RRR' featured in the official announcement.

Directed by Rajamouli, with a story by Vijayendra Prasad and dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra, the film stars Jr. NTR and Ram Charan as freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. The cast also includes Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, and international actors Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody.
