Pahalgam terror attack: Rahul Gandhi leads Congress' candle march to honor victims

'Full Support To Govt': Rahul Gandhi, Tejaswi Yadav, Owaisi lead Candle March Over Pahalgam Attack
NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi joined a candle march organised by its party to pay tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack in Delhi, on Friday.
The candle march began at the former party headquarters on 24 Akbar Road and proceeded to Tees January Marg in Lutyen's Delhi. The Congress MP was accompanied by senior party leaders KC Venugopal and Ajay Makan.
The march concluded at Birla House, the historic site where Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated in 1948.
Earlier in the day, the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha visited Srinagar to meet Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at his residence in view of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
He also visited an injured survivor at a local hospital.
"It has been a terrible tragedy. I came here to gain a sense of what's going on and to help. The entire population of Jammu and Kashmir has condemned this terrible action and has fully supported the nation at this time. I met one of the people who is injured. My love and affection to everybody who has lost their family members. The entire nation is standing united. We had a meeting yesterday with the government,” Rahul said in a video posted on X.

"We are ready to support whatever action the government wants to take. The idea behind the attack is to divide the society. It is very important that every Indian stands united so that we can defeat what the terrorists wanted to do," he added.
Twenty-six people, mostly tourists from across the country, were killed when terrorists opened fire at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday.
