Former two-weight UFC champion, Henry Cejudo has his first-ever championship belt stolen from his studio

Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo, fresh from aiding police, faced another setback when his first UFC belt was stolen from his studio in Phoenix. While Cejudo's producer, Dylan Rush, was present, fans are suspicious of his involvement. This incident compounds Cejudo's recent misfortunes, including a controversial loss to Song Yadong and a subsequent announcement of retirement after one last fight.

Former UFC two-weight division champion Henry Cejudo recently displayed an act of heroism when he aided the police in detaining a fleeing drunk driver near his residence in Phoenix. However, the moment of enjoying the appreciation was cut short when his first-ever championship belt was stolen from his studio while the fighter’s producer and Cageside Press distributor, Dylan Rush, was sleeping on the couch.

UFC fans believe Henry Cejudo’s producer, Dylan Rush had a hand in the theft case

Henry Cejudo’s last bout was against Song Yadong, which resulted in the controversial eye poke situation. While Yadong won the bout, it marked the third consecutive loss for Cejudo. With a three-game losing streak, Cejudo, in one of his interactions with US President Donald Trump, went ahead to announce his retirement after one last bout in the Octagon.
Under such circumstances, it was quite unfortunate for the fighter to lose one of the belts in a theft case. On April 8, 2025, Tuesday morning, Dylan Rush, Cejudo’s producer, claimed that a thief had entered the house and picked up the belt kept on a shelf.
Rush wrote on Instagram, “Someone broke into Henry’s studio last night at 4:45 a.m. and stole his first UFC belt while I was sleeping on the couch,” Rush posted on social media. “I woke up and watched the guy stand there for two minutes, thinking it was Henry [because] it was dark. Then I heard a crash (the shelf fell) and the dude ran out.”

The post met with criticism from the fans, specifically directed towards Rush.
One of them wrote, “Bro on the couch has 0 awareness”
Another one wrote, “What? So he looked at this guy for 2 minutes but didn't say "what you doing Henry" or anything?”
“Sounds like inside job by @rushmma11 lol”
The same afternoon, Rush posted a video of himself on Instagram later, which spoke about more stuff getting stolen like a laptop, camera and recording equipment.

“I was so focused on the best, I only just resulted that they stole other things like my camera bag, with my camera, Henry’s camera, my laptop, my memory cards.” Dylan continued, “So everything that I have filmed till date, all my videos are gone…It sucks, I wanna give up."

While Cejudo is at a point in life where circumstances might not have been that favorable to the fighter from a career point of view, the incident was another addition to the fighter’s unfavorable days. While the next steps are not known yet, it is quite uncertain if he will get back his first-ever belt. Let’s hope for the best.
