With his similar facial features, dreads, and signature goatee, Colin managed to fool security and gain entry into what is known as the largest livestock exhibition and rodeo in the world. The event, where security is notoriously tight, surprisingly let him through without much scrutiny. But the stunt didn't stop there. Once inside, rodeo-goers excitedly approached him for pictures and autographs, believing him to be the real C.J. Stroud.

One father, who had unknowingly taken a picture with Colin, was even heard saying, “Something for my kid.” While Colin himself never explicitly claimed to be the Texans' quarterback, the illusion was enough to create buzz among attendees. The fact that he donned a No. 7 Stroud jersey—something an actual NFL star would likely never wear in public—should have been a giveaway. But in the excitement of the moment, few seemed to question it.
The world of athlete impersonators seems to be thriving, and Colin’s stunt echoes similar pranks pulled off in the past. A YouTuber named VicInTheGame orchestrated a similar hoax last year, hiring a Patrick Mahomes lookalike, surrounding him with security, and storming a Kansas City mall, leaving fans in awe. Similarly, an impersonator of NBA star Klay Thompson once made waves by sneaking onto the court at a Golden State Warriors game.
Colin, who has just 255 followers on Twitch, might not have the influence of these well-known pranksters, but his creativity is undeniable. It takes a certain level of boldness to pull off a high-stakes stunt under public scrutiny, especially in an era where social media amplifies exposure. Whether it was harmless fun or a misleading act, the debate remains open.
One thing is certain—Colin’s ability to pull off the prank is a testament to the rising star power of C.J. Stroud. After an incredible rookie season in 2023, Stroud has rapidly become the face of the Texans' franchise, guiding the team to back-to-back playoff appearances.
