Just two days before the match between the Oilers and the Kings? Evander Kane went a step above others and straight up to the owner of the LA team of the NBA! NHL meets NBA! The Oilers meet LA! Evander Kane meets Jeanie Buss! The ice hockey winger took to his Instagram to share an IG story posing with the LA Lakers controlling owner and president, Jeanie Buss. He captioned the photo by tagging the owner of the LA Lakers IG account, “@jeaniebuss”.



The IG story of 33-year-old Evander Kane looks like it was clicked in the LA Lakers lounge opposite the bartender’s counter. 63-year-old Jeanie Buss, owner of the NBA’s LA Lakers team, looked gorgeous in a white striped full shirt and sky blue jeans. She left her blonde hair open and wore the LA Lakers’ ID card. Jeanie Buss carried a sling bag of bamboo color that was hidden behind Evander Kane.
Evander Kane, on the other hand, wore a matt-finished black round-neck, half-sleeved t-shirt to match off-white or beige-colored trousers. Kane’s forearm tattoo was visible, and he carried his goggles over his round-necked t-shirt. In no way Jeanie looked 63 standing next to Evander Kane, who’s 33! The 40-year age difference was just not visible on the IG story! Let us know if you think otherwise.



On April 20, Daniel Nugent-Bowman, Edmonton Oilers reporter from The Athletic, shared on his X platform,
“Evander Kane is close to being cleared, per Knoblauch. Kane wasn’t on the ice today for an optional state. Trent Frederic could be an option for Game 1. He said he’d like to think he can play. Knoblauch wouldn’t name his starting goalie. It sure seems like it’ll be Skinner.”

On April 14, Evander Kane addressed the media and talked about his return,
“I’m feeling good. I’ve put in a lot of hard work ever since I had the surgery... I’m really excited to get going here as soon as we get to 100 percent, which should be pretty soon.”
Evander Kane was away throughout the 2024-2025 NHL season due to multiple injuries - torn lower abdominal muscles, hernias, torn hip adductor muscles, and knee surgery. He played last in the 2023-2024 NHL season, recording 24 goals, 20 assists, and 44 points in over 77 games.
On April 21, Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch met with the media after the Oilers practice in LA, "Evander Kane is not ready, close, but not ready. He will not play Game 1." Game 1 against the LA Kings was not fruitful for the Oilers. The Edmonton Oilers really missed Evander Kane. An X user even wrote, "1 Stuart Skinner should never touch the Ice again. 2 Evander Kane needs to be back ASAP 3 The effort in the third period needs to be matched for the entire game moving forward if we are ever going to have a chance in this series. Onto game 2".
