Ghost of Yotei PlayStation 5 launch date confirmed: Price, pre-order details and more

has announced the release date, new story details, and gameplay for Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei. The announcement for the action-adventure title was made via the game’s second trailer, which was shared on YouTube. Ghost of Yotei is a follow-up to 2020's Ghost of Tsushima title. The game launching on October 2 will be exclusive to PlayStation 5. The game’s second trailer details the protagonist Atsu's quest for revenge after her family was killed and she was left for dead by six masked outlaws. The game’s developer, Sucker Punch, has announced that Ghost of Yotei will be available for pre-order starting May 2 at 10 AM ET (7.30 PM IST). Players can choose between a standard edition, a digital deluxe edition, and a collector’s edition. Ghost of Yotei is now available to wishlist on the PlayStation Store.
All pre-orders include a unique in-game mask and seven PSN avatars featuring concept art of Atsu and the Yotei Six. PlayStation Store pre-orders receive the avatars instantly.
The digital deluxe edition adds in-game bonuses such as The Snake's armour set, an alternate armour dye, a unique horse and saddle colour, a charm, a gold Sword Kit, and early access to Traveller's Maps.
The collector’s edition, available only through direct.playstation.com or select retailers, includes all previous bonuses plus physical items like Atsu’s Ghost mask, her sash, the katana's Tsuba, a coin pouch with a mini-game, a foldable papercraft ginkgo tree with a wolf, and four collectable art cards.
The new trailer for Ghost of Yotei, titled “The Onryō's List,” highlights Atsu’s quest for vengeance against the Yotei Six — a gang of outlaws who killed her family and left her for dead. Sixteen years later, Atsu returns to Ezo to hunt them down one by one: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.
The game features a revenge-driven narrative. Alongside her main mission, players can explore the Ezo region, form alliances, take on bounties, train with weapon masters, and revisit familiar side activities from Ghost of Tsushima.
The trailer also revealed a new spear weapon, immersive environments, and a mechanic that lets players relive Atsu’s past. Players can also set up campfires anywhere in the open world to rest, similar to Red Dead Redemption 2.
