Ola co-founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has introduced a new requirement for employees to submit weekly work reports. As reported by the Economic Times, Aggarwal sent an internal message last week, instructing employees to share weekly updates in 3 to 5 bullet points. He has named this initiative "Kya Chal Raha Hai?" which translates to "What is going on?"

“We're starting 'Kya Chal Raha Hai?'—a simple way to share your weekly updates directly with me and your managers, starting today,” Aggarwal told employees in his message last week.
He instructed employees to use clear language and bullet points to outline what they accomplished during the week.
“Please send a brief update to your manager and [email protected] (the email will be active in an hour or so) with 3-5 bullet points about what you got done last week. Keep it simple and to the point,” Aggarwal said, adding that all employees would be expected to send the updates, with no exceptions.
He also explained that, moving forward, Ola employees would need to submit their weekly report before Sunday.
“Use the email subject: ‘Weekly updates’. The deadline for this is today, end of the day. Going forward, we will expect the email before Sunday end of day. Everyone has to send this,” Aggarwal informed employees.

Jobs cut at Ola

In another news, Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. is cutting more than a thousand employees and contract workers as the Indian scooter maker struggles to reduce rising losses, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The layoffs at the SoftBank Group Corp.-backed company will affect multiple departments, including procurement, fulfillment, customer relations, and charging infrastructure, according to the report. The sources requested anonymity as the information is private.
This is the second wave of layoffs in under five months for the Bhavish Aggarwal-led company, which is grappling with several challenges. Ola Electric, which became a public company in August last year, saw its losses surge by 50% in the December quarter and has recently come under scrutiny from India’s market regulator and consumer protection authority, according to Bloomberg.
