Books inspire, educate, and sometimes, even transform us.
On the occasion of World Book Day, some of most beloved actors –
Aishwarya Khare from
Bhagya Lakshmi shared her fondest reading memories, her
favorite books, and how reading has influenced her life in meaningful ways.
Aishwarya Khare, who essays the role of Lakshmi in Bhagya Lakshmi said, “Before the cameras and scripts became part of my daily life, it was books that gave me my first taste of
storytelling.
Harry Potter was the first book that made me fall in love with the written word — it introduced me to the idea of magic, friendship, and inner strength. Even now, I revisit it whenever I need a little comfort or perspective. I try to read at least one book every month. Sometimes it's during a lunch break, other times in the car between scenes."
She further shared, "Reading is my little sanctuary — a form of therapy that helps me slow down and reconnect with myself. Books shape us in profound ways. They teach empathy, broaden our understanding of the world, and offer hope when we need it most. So, if you’ve been meaning to pick up a book, let World Book Day be your cue. Start small, but start somewhere. You never know which story might change your life.”
