The incident happened when Sheikh was filming a dramatic action scene. According to reports, he suddenly became ill and fainted on set, necessitating quick medical care.
The actor received first assistance on-site and was quickly transported to a neighbouring hospital. After receiving initial therapy, he was transported to Mumbai for more advanced medical care.
As of yet, Sheikh's family and the producers of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai have not released an official statement regarding his status.

Earlier, Aasif had spoken about his character Suraj Singh in the film Karan Arjun, he said, “When Karan Arjun’s director, Rakesh Roshan, first introduced me to the role, he stressed that ‘What a joke’ wasn’t just a line but the core of Suraj’s character. He wanted it to be Suraj’s reaction to everything, bringing an unexpected, engaging twist to the character. From day one, I infused 'What a joke' into every scene, experimenting with different tones to bring out the humour and unpredictability that the film’s director envisioned.”
