Exclusive- Akshay Bindra on April Fools' Day: I have been a prankster since childhood

April Fools' Day, also known as All Fools' Day, is an annual tradition observed on April 1st that involves practical jokes and hoaxes. Jokesters frequently disclose their deeds by shouting "April Fools!" at the target.Thesepranks may include the media and be revealed the next day. Setting aside a day to perpetrate harmless pranks on one's neighbour has long been a prevalent practice around the world.
Akshay Dev Bindra, who essays the role of Raunak in Kumkum Bhagya, said, “I have been a prankster since childhood! Back in school, I was the kid who stuck 'Kick Me' signs on my friends' backs or replaced whiteboard markers with invisible ink. Even now, I can’t resist a good prank. Recently, on set, I turned off the lights when one of my co-stars was in their make-up room and played horror music. I must say the shriek that followed was legendary! Another time, I used an app to make my director believe his phone screen had shattered—he almost had a meltdown before I confessed.The best pranks are the ones that make people laugh and lighten the mood. Life is too short to be serious all the time, so here’s to keeping the spirit of mischief alive this April Fool’s Day!”
Akshay shared about the injury: “The sequence was dramatic because I had to get into a proper physical battle. The team had made sure that all the safety measures were in place, but unfortunately, I happened to injure my right little finger. It is a hairline fracture, however, initially, I had just felt some pain. In the heat of the moment, I didn’t realize that it would be a fracture, but as soon as the pain started intensifying, I realised it wasn’t something normal.The doctors confirmed that it was a fracture, but that hasn’t stopped me from shooting. Theshow must go on, right? The cast and crew have been incredibly supportive, taking great care of me while ensuring that I get the necessary rest and medication. I am truly grateful for their concern and best wishes. Knowing that so many people care for me keeps me motivated and makes this journey even more special.”
