Exclusive: Balika Vadhu fame Roop Durgapal to be seen in a web show directed by Prakash Jha; says ‘It was a great experience’

Television actress Roop Durgapal, best known for her role in Balika Vadhu, is all set to make a powerful return to the spotlight with an upcoming web series helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Prakash Jha. In an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, Roop revealed exciting details about her digital debut and shared her gratitude for the opportunities coming her way.
“I’m looking forward to more work this year,” she said. “Apart from a micro-series that I’ll be shooting for next week, there’s a web show that’s already completed. It’s produced and directed by Prakash Jha and features Nana Patekar and Zeeshan Ayub. I’m playing Zeeshan’s wife in the series. It was a great experience working with such a stellar cast and under such a renowned director.”

Roop expressed her excitement about this new phase in her career, adding, “Right now, I’m in that space where my projects are ready and lined up for release. God has been really kind, and I’m truly grateful.”
In addition to her web series, Roop recently featured in a high-profile ad film with Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan. Speaking about it, she shared, “When I got this ad, it felt like a big opportunity. I hadn’t done a commercial in a long time, and when you get a chance to share the screen with someone like Kartik Aaryan, you don’t even think twice. I said yes immediately—it felt like the perfect comeback into the ad world.”

With multiple projects on the horizon and the promise of more meaningful roles, Roop Durgapal is clearly embracing a dynamic new chapter in her acting journey. Fans can expect to see a lot more of her in the digital space this year.
