Exclusive - Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Team yet to finalise Disha Vakani's replacement to play Dayaben; show to witness the entry of new characters soon

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been entertaining fans continuously for the last 17 years and is currently making waves on the TRP charts. The show is in the news once again for finally getting the replacement of Disha Vakani to play Dayaben. According to an entertainment portal, a suitable actress has been selected for the iconic character, but her identity is being kept under wraps. However, a source close to TMKOC has refuted these claims. Times of India TV has exclusively learned that auditions for Dayaben are still underway, and the makers have not finalised anyone for the role yet.
A source close to the show informed Times of India TV, "The production house has been conducting auditions for Dayaben for quite some time and we haven't found anyone suitable for the role yet. The hunt to find Disha Vakani's replacement is still going on. In fact, Dayaben's absence has not affected TMKOC's ratings as the writers have found new and engaging stories to entertain the audiences. The show will be introducing new characters and have finalised the casting. They will be joining Taarak Mehta... in the next 15-20 days."
The source further added, "The show has been doing extremely well and the current tracks are rising on popularity charts. TMKOC has adapted to changing times with a fresh perspective. The show is no longer centered around a single character; instead, it delves deeper into the lives and challenges of multiple residents of Gokuldham Society. From Bapuji Udd Gaye to the Tapu-Sonu track, TMKOC brings fresh dimensions to its well-loved characters. Through the years, one principle has remained unchanged to never compromise on the show's ideology. At times, the artists have changed but the characters continue to resonate with fans."
Disha Vakani went on maternity leave in September 2017 and has not made a comeback to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since then. It has been seven years since her last appearance, yet the show's makers have not found a replacement for her role.
