From Subha Rajput to Deepika Singh: TV actresses share their thoughts on Chaitra Navratri
As Chaitra Navratri begins, several television actresses, including Subha Rajput and Deepika Singh, have shared their thoughts on the significance of the festival. They opened up about their traditions, prayers, and how they celebrate this auspicious occasion, embracing devotion and positivity during the nine-day festival.
Subha Rajput playing the role of Shakti in ‘Shiv Shakti Tap Tyag Tandav’ shares, “Chaitra Navratri is a time of immense devotion and strength, and for me, it holds a special significance. Playing Shakti in Shiv Shakti has deepened my connection with the divine feminine energy—Maa Durga, the ultimate embodiment of power, compassion, and resilience. I am constantly inspired by her various forms, from Maa Kali’s fierce determination to Maa Saraswati’s wisdom. This festival reminds me that every woman carries a part of Aadi Shakti within her—the power to overcome challenges with grace. This Navratri, I pray that Maa Durga fills everyone’s life with positivity, wisdom, and unshakable strength.”
Anchal Sahu playing the role of Parineet in ‘Parineetii’ shares, “Chaitra Navratri marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year, starting from the first day of Chaitra Shukla Paksha, making it a time of new beginnings, devotion, and joy. The Navratri festival has always been special to me, filling the air with a sense of togetherness and spiritual energy. As a child, I loved dressing up in colourful traditional outfits and visiting Mata Ki Chowkis with my family and friends. The energy, the bhajans, the beautifully adorned idols—everything felt so divine. I still remember how we used to offer prasad and perform aarti together, creating memories that I cherish to this day. Even now, amidst my shooting schedule for Parineetii, I try to keep the same spirit alive, celebrating in my own way and seeking Maa Durga’s blessings. Wishing everyone a Navratri filled with strength, happiness, and positivity!”
Deepika Singh playing the role of Mangal in ‘Mangal Lakshmi’ shares, “Chaitra Navratri is very special for our family because it is dedicated to our Kuldevi. At home, we light an Akhand Jyot (eternal sacred flame), which my mother-in-law and sister-in-law take care of. Every morning at 7, all the family members gather for an aarti. In the evening, around 7, we perform another aarti, followed by Durga Chalisa. We also offer bhog to the goddess and keep the sacred flame burning throughout. Right after Gudi Padwa comes Gangaur, a big festival for Marwaris. On this day, we worship Isar and Gauri, who represent Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, and pray for the well-being of our families. It is a beautiful celebration where women come together to sing, dance, and offer prayers. We also make the idols ourselves and immerse them in the evening. This tradition has been followed by my mother-in-law, and I feel fortunate to continue it. Everyone celebrates it in their own way, making the festival even more meaningful.”
Khushbhu Rajendra, playing the role of Isha in Ram Bhavan, shares, “When I was a child, Chaitra Navratri always brought a new energy into our home. One of my fondest memories is being invited to Kanya Pujan, where we would be welcomed with so much love, offered delicious prasad, and gifted bangles, chunni, and small toys. Those moments made me feel truly special and connected to Maa Durga’s blessings. Even now, as I celebrate amidst my shoot for Ram Bhavan, I carry the same faith and joy in my heart. This Navratri, I wish for peace, happiness, and Maa Durga’s grace in everyone’s life.”
Priyanshi Yadav playing the role of Doree in ‘Doree’ shares, “The arrival of Chaitra Navratri has always been a time of deep devotion and joy for me. As a child, I loved helping my mother with the puja preparations—decorating the mandir with flowers. The energy of these nine days always filled our home with positivity and faith. This year is even more special as I am shooting for Doree, and while I won't be able to celebrate this time with my family, I will make sure to visit Maa Durga Pandal to take blessings. My wish for this Navratri is for Maa Durga to bless everyone with strength, positivity, and the courage to overcome all challenges—just like she empowers Doree in her journey.”
