Indian Idol 15: Contestant Manasi’s fun-filled rapid fire with Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar

The grand semi-finale of Indian Idol 15 is set to be a musical extravaganza, featuring none other than Bollywood’s powerhouse filmmaker, Karan Johar. Known for his sharp wit, flamboyant style, and deep love for music, Karan joins the judges' panel alongside Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani, and Badshah to witness some spectacular performances.
One of the highlights of the evening was contestant Manasi Ghosh, famously dubbed as ‘Idol ki Crazy Girl’, who delivered a power-packed performance on the hit song Desi Girl. Her energetic stage presence and stunning vocals left not just the audience but also Karan Johar completely mesmerized.

Karan, who directed Dostana, the film featuring the song, couldn’t help but reminisce about its impact. He shared, "I don't think I've ever attended a wedding where this song wasn’t playing. It has become the ultimate shaadi anthem, not just in India but across the world. I’ve even seen non-Indians dance to it at weddings because they have Indian friends!"
He went on to applaud Manasi for her daring song choice, saying, "The notes of this song are quite high, something I didn’t realize until Vishal pointed it out. It was very brave of you to pick this track. Your personality is so big—you’re quirky, fabulous, and sassy—and your voice has the perfect stage presence. I thoroughly enjoyed your performance!"
