Hyeri from Girl’s Day expressed her gratitude for the love and support she received while starring in 'My Roommate Is a Gumiho'!
The idol-turned-actress recently wowed audiences in the fantasy romance drama 'My Roommate Is a Gumiho,' in which she played a college student who found herself living with a 999-year-old male Gumiho for the first time (played by Jang Ki Yong).
Hyeri admitted that she was initially concerned about her chemistry with co-star Jang Ki Yong, knowing that every romantic comedy relies on good chemistry between the two protagonists.
However, it seems that all her hard work paid off and Hyeri was more than delighted to see fans and viewers talk a lot about the chemistry she shared with her co-star. "I was grateful,” she said while going on to add that her director and Jang Ki Yong would often sit with her and discuss ways to make their chemistry the governing force behind the drama. With the love and reactions pouring in, the star said, "I feel like we might have at least half-succeeded.”
Hyeri also thanked former 'Reply 1988' co-star Go Kyung Pyo for appearing in 'My Roommate Is a Gumiho' in a cameo role. She shared that when she first ‘met’ the character of Dam, she was 'nervous and excited' and wanted the audience to feel the same flutter in her heart.
Hyeri also expressed her gratitude to her boyfriend, Ryu Jun Yeol, for his unwavering support during the drama. Her beau wasn't her sole supporter; as usual, her fellow Girl’s Day members stepped up and cheered her on through this new venture.
Hyeri revealed that her Girl’s Day members would take photos of the TV screen while they’re watching ‘My Roommate Is a Gumiho’ and send them to her. Yura would often leave the girls in splits with her comments like "Why is Lee Hyeri like this?"
Hyeri also spoke also about the support she received from Krystal with who she developed a strong friendship after they appeared together on an episode of 'Amazing Saturday.' Recalling their first meeting after filming the show together, she said that they spoke for about eight hours and even added, "I thought to myself, ‘I’m so happy that I made a friend [I can talk to] like this.’”
