Recently, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, cleared their stance in the matter of late actor Sulli performing an explicit scene in the movie ‘Real’ (2017). Following the same, the late star’s brother, Choi Da Hee, shared a cryptic post on social media mentioning several industry figures, according to KBI Zoom.
Names dropped by Sulli’s brother
There is a list of influential and famous people from the industry whose names were mentioned in the post. The list includes IU, Kim Sun Ah, Sulli, Han Ji Eun, Suzy, Ahn So Hee, the late actor Goo Hara, and Kim Sae Ron.
In addition to this, Choi used phrases like “Gold Medalist” (Kim Soo-hyun’s agency) and “Real”, hinting at hidden connections.
Before this cryptic post, he alleged that his late sister was in a relationship with Block B’s P.O, and shared personal details that were not public knowledge earlier.
How did IU get involved in the controversy?
IU, the popular Korean solo artist and actor who recently starred ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines,’ has become embroiled in the controversy surrounding Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun because of her long-standing friendship with Soo Hyun. Their bond bloomed when they collaborated on the 2011 drama ‘Dream High.’ The two have kept a strong professional and personal relationship over the years, with Soo Hyun even attending her most recent concert in 2024.
As the scandal gained traction, many questioned IU’s silence. Sulli’s brother, who had previously praised IU for supporting his sister both emotionally and artistically, later edited his post to claim: “IU was close with Kim Soo Hyun. After rejecting the original female lead role in Real, she handed the script over to Sulli.”
“There was a body double on set during Real. The shoot followed the storyboard, but after the film was released, people said, ‘If we knew it would be edited this way, wouldn’t it have been better to use a double?’ At the time, Sulli was in a physically and mentally difficult state,” he added.
