RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh's technical institutions have achieved notable success at the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Idea Lab Techfest 2025, held at the AICTE headquarters in New Delhi. The event, which showcased innovative projects from 80 AICTE IDEA Lab institutions nationwide, highlighted the state's growing strength in technical innovation.
The techfest, inaugurated by AICTE Chairman Professor T.G. Sitharam provided a platform for young innovators to demonstrate their technical skills and engage in collaborative learning. Professor Sitharam emphasized the importance of experiential education, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. "Education should go beyond textbooks. NEP 2020 prioritizes hands-on learning, and the AICTE Idea Lab embodies this vision by promoting innovation through practical experience," he stated.
SSIPMT, Raipur, secured second place, and BIT, Durg, claimed third position, underscoring Chhattisgarh's burgeoning innovation ecosystem. The second-place winning project from SSIPMT featured an AI-powered chatbot that utilizes facial recognition technology. This advanced chatbot greets users by recognizing their faces, offers a digital rose, and responds to queries using ChatGPT technology, showcasing the cutting-edge advancements being made in Chhattisgarh's educational institutions.
The third-place achievement from BIT, Durg, further highlighted the state's commitment to fostering innovation and technical education.
The AICTE Idea Lab Techfest 2025 attracted over 1,800 participants, including students, educators, industry experts, and technology enthusiasts, creating a dynamic atmosphere of creativity and technical excellence. The AICTE Idea Lab initiative, aligned with NEP 2020, aims to promote research and innovation among students, providing them with opportunities to excel in technical education.
