Alexx O’Nell hopes 'Kesari 2' performs better than 'Joker' with Akshay Kumar: 'We shared a bit of a laugh about that film'

American actor and musician Alexx O’Nell is all set to share screen space once again with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar in the upcoming film Kesari: Chapter 2, releasing in cinemas on 18 April. The two had previously worked together over a decade ago in the 2012 film Joker, which failed to make an impact at the box office. In a recent conversation, Alexx shared how he and Akshay used to discuss Joker on the sets of Kesari: Chapter 2.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Alexx mentioned that children still found joy in Joker’s colourful and unpredictable nature, despite its box office setback. “It has to do better than the first film Akshay and I did together, Joker! We met after all these years and started working together on Kesari. Obviously, we shared a bit of a laugh about that film. It didn’t do so well, which is fine, but my friends’ kids loved the movie because it is colourful and you never know what’s going to happen in the next moment,” he said.

Alexx also highlighted the camaraderie he and Akshay shared during their first film and expressed his optimism about Kesari: Chapter 2. Unlike Joker, he believes this historical courtroom drama offers more than just entertainment—it carries a message and emotional weight. “My expectations are quite high. I don’t look at it just as a movie made for entertainment value, but as a film made to offer another angle and perspective,” he shared.
The actor also shared his excitement about watching the movie in cinemas with the cast and crew.

Kesari: Chapter 2, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, also features R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday in key roles.
