Tollywood superstar
Mahesh Babu and the ace director SS Rajamouli have joined hands for their globetrotter tentatively called 'SSMB29'. The film is currently in the early production phase, the makers seem to have taken a break.
Recently, Mahesh Babu was spotted at the airport humorously flaunting his
passport to the paparazzi, hinting that he had reclaimed it from Rajamouli. The director is known for his strict policies of keeping his actors out of public appearances during filming, but Mahesh appears to be an exception. Despite photos and videos from the sets occasionally leaking online, Rajamouli has been more lenient with Mahesh, allowing him to enjoy a family vacation while pre-production and production continue.
According to a report by Gulte, the vacation coincides with Rajamouli's trip to Japan, where he is promoting the documentary 'Behind & Beyond' based on the making of 'RRR'. During his visit, Rajamouli interacted with Japanese fans and shared insights about his filmmaking process. This downtime for both the actor and director has allowed Mahesh to take a well-deserved break before diving into the ambitious project.
'SSMB29', written by Vijayendra Prasad, is described as a jungle adventure set in the Amazon rainforest and inspired from 'Indiana Jones'. The film will feature extensive VFX work, with Hollywood studios reportedly collaborating on its visual effects. Mahesh Babu is reportedly playing a role inspired by Lord Hanuman and would be seen in a bulky muscular body.
With a rumoured budget of Rs 1000 crore, it is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.
The movie will also feature
Priyanka Chopra as the female lead and Prithviraj Sukumaran likely to play the main antagonist.
