comedy TV shows, Khichdi recently reunited for a special video with choreographer-turned-filmmaker
Farah Khan. They joined to cook a special Khichdi meal for Farah Khan's YouTube channel. The episode was nostalgic and a laugh riot as all the actors were seen in their fun element.
Farah Khan recently hosted the Khichdi cast for a special anniversary episode on her YouTube channel. The reunion was filled with nostalgia as the team reminisced about the memorable moments from the beloved TV show and its two film adaptations. Adding to the fun, Farah prompted
Supriya Pathak to recreate her iconic line, "Hai Main Toh Thak Gayi," leaving everyone in splits.
During the episode,
JD Majethia, who played Himanshu in the show and was also one of the producers, made a special announcement about the new season. When Farah Khan quizzed JD about the new season, he shared the happy news with the audience.
Majethia revealed exciting news for fans, announcing that Khichdi 3 is in the pipeline and they plan to release it in 2027. “Humlog 2027 me ek aur Khichdi banaenge, Khichdi 3
(We’ll be bringing another dose of Khichdi in 2027 �?Khichdi 3)," he shared enthusiastically.
The actor-producer went on to share that the Khichdi journey began in 2002 as a television sitcom, and by 2027, both the iconic show and his production house will celebrate 25 years. To mark this milestone, the team is gearing up to deliver a “zabardast picture�?that lives up to the legacy.
That's not all, JD Majethia, who portrays Himanshu Chandrakant Sheth in the Khichdi franchise, shared that they are also planning to re-release Khichdi: The Movie in celebration of World Laughter Day, which falls on May 4, 2025.
During the video, Farah Khan recalled working on Khichdi the movie and how she loves watching the film even now after so many years. She revealed in the video that she took up Khichdi movie part 1 immediately after her kids birth. She said, "Mere bacche just paida he hue the and I had just started work and I didn't even ask JD what is the role or anything else. I just landed up on the sets. I loved being there. It is my favourite movie and I watch it whenever it comes on satellite. The movie can be watched from anywhere. My favourite part is the court case. It is out of this world."
Khichdi: The Movie brought together the original cast from the beloved TV series, featuring Anang Desai, Rajeev Mehta, Supriya Pathak, Jamnadas Majethia, and Nimisha Vakharia reprising their iconic roles. The film also introduced Kirti Kulhari as Parminder (Pammi) Kaur, and included a surprise cameo by filmmaker Farah Khan.
Years later, in 2023, the franchise returned with
Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan, reuniting the entire ensemble once again as they breathed life into their quirky characters on the silver screen.
