Jason Grilli, popularly known as "Grilled Cheese," is one of America’s top baseball pitchers, who have had a long and respectable career in Major League Baseball. Recently, MLB awarded him with a ‘Lifetime’ Pass post-retirement, and he came down to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates play. He shared a photo of his Lifetime Pass with his fans, which went viral on social media.

Who is Jason Grilli with a 15-year-old MLB career?

Jason Grilli was born in 1976 and has played professionally for 15 seasons, while being a part of at least nine different MLB teams during his journey, Florida Marlins, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, Colorado Rockies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Los Angeles Angels, Atlanta Braves, Toronto Blue Jays, and Texas Rangers. He made his MLB debut in 2000 with the Florida Marlins.
Throughout his career, he was known for his powerful pitching style and for having a strong presence on the mound. He retired in 2017, with the team Texas Rangers. Post 2017, Grilli became a free agent and later retired from baseball.
To honor his contributions to the sport, Major League Baseball awarded him a “Lifetime Pass” after his retirement. A Lifetime Pass is a special recognition that is given to players with a long, notable career. It was Grilli’s love for baseball and his dedication that have made him such a respected and loving figure in the baseball industry.

Jason Grilli’s emotional moment in Pittsburgh Pirates

The "Lifetime Pass" is a special gold card that is given by Major League Baseball to all players, managers, coaches, and umpires who have had a long working career in the league for at least eight years. A Lifetime Pass card allows them, along with a guest an entry at any regular-season MLB game for free. That is for life. Even the full-time MLB front office staff members also get the Lifetime Pass, but only after 25 years of service.
Jason Grilli received his Lifetime Pass when he retired. Recently, he had used his Lifetime Pass to take his son to a game at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. They went to watch Paul Skenes, of the Pittsburgh Pirates, pitching against the Washington Nationals.
A heartwarming photo shared by Jason Grilli on Instagram, where he wrote how beautiful it felt to be able to come back to the same spot, with people surrounding you, and how such moments are full of love and warmth.
Grilli took to Instagram where he said:

“Used the lifetime pass and the golden ticket today to watch Paul Skenes take the mound at PNC with my son. Moments like this hit different-baseball, legacy, and passing it on to the next generation.”
Fans on X were pleased to hear about the pass and were happy for Grilli.
