There's a piece of good news for all the JoJo fans out there. Warner Bros Japan has just announced the anime adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Steel Ball Run manga. According to the studio, the anime is already in production and it is not part of the current storyline.
The original manga was worked on by Hirohiko Araki and it ran from 2004 to 2011. Going by the manga, it consists of seven arcs and we can expect to see the first two or three being adopted in the first season of the anime. Moving forward, let's have a detailed look at the plot of the manga and the arcs that we can get to see.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Steel Ball Run basic plot and arcs
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure upcoming anime is set in the America of the 1890s. The events take place around a cross-country horse race known as the Steel Ball Run that covers from San Diego to New York. The story of the manga revolves around Johnny Joestar who was a celebrity horse-racer now paralyzed waist down due to an accident.
Another major character in the series is Gyro Zappeli who enters the Steel Ball Run to save a helpless child from execution by getting political power on his side. He carries steel balls that can heal wounds, alter biological movement, and more. The equation shared by both the characters is going to give you multiple spine-chilling moments when the same is animated. Only thing that can be said right now is to get ready to witness peak bromance moments.
The first arc of the manga is the Steel Ball Run Race Begins Arc which stretches from chapter 1 to chapter 24. Here, we will see Johnny and Gyro debut. Next in the line is the Saint's Corpse Arc where the real reason behind the race will be revealed. After that, we get to see the Eleven Men Arc, ranging from chapter 47 to chapter 61 where Funny Valentine will make a debut along with revealing his goals. High chances are that the first season of anime will get to see these three arcs in action.
