Abhishek Malik, who is currently seen as Neel Paranjape in Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah's Jamai No. 1, feels that while OTT is getting popular by the day, TV shows still remain the daily source of entertainment for the audience.
He said, "TV shows have always been a comfort zone for audiences. While OTT platforms are gaining popularity, TV remains the go-to medium for many families."
"The daily connection, the emotional engagement, and the relatability of characters continue to draw viewers. It's about familiarity and consistency, which TV provides like no other medium," he added.
He also stressed that TV and TV shows are evolving and shared that it’s exciting to be part of this transformation. "Shows like Jamai No. 1 are proof that audiences are craving fresh content that breaks away from conventional storytelling. It’s great to see producers and creators willing to take risks and offer something new and engaging," he said.
"It’s a healthy change, and I’m thrilled to contribute to it," he added.
Abhishek also mentioned that it's important that the content changes as per the audience's liking. He said, "The audience's taste keeps evolving, and as creators and actors, it's our responsibility to adapt to those changes."
"Keeping content relevant and relatable is essential to maintain that connection with viewers. I believe that’s where shows like Jamai No. 1 stand out—it dares to be different and challenges outdated stereotypes," he added.
He also confessed that he too has evolved a lot as an actor. "With every project, I try to push my boundaries and explore something new. Playing Neel in Jamai No. 1 has been a refreshing experience because it’s a character that breaks away from the usual moulds," he said.
"I've become more confident and versatile, and most importantly, I’ve learnt to enjoy the process even more. Every day is a learning experience, and I’m grateful for it," Abhishek ended.
