Bhopal police destroy Rs 150 crore seized narcotics
Bhopal: In a significant crackdown against drug trafficking, the Bhopal Police Commissionerate destroyed seized narcotics from 74 cases, with an estimated market value exceeding Rs 150 crore. Some of the cases date back as far as 26 years. The incineration process was carried out at a cement factory located in Narsinghgarh, Damoh, where all the substances were incinerated at high temperatures.
The operation was overseen by the Drug Disposal Committee, chaired by Avadhesh Goswami, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order). Nodal Officer Shailendra Singh Chauhan, Additional DCP, Crime Branch, and officials from MP Pollution Control Board were also present during the proceedings.

Ganja (Cannabis): 596 kg from 62 cases
Charas (Hashish): 49.333 kg from 5 cases
Brown Sugar: 0.02429 kg from 4 cases
MD (Methamphetamine): 0.092 kg from 91 cases
Injection Avil: 1 case (quantity not specified)
Smack: Quantity and case details not disclosed
Codeine-based Cough Syrup: 15,312 bottles
