YAMUNANAGAR: A liquor godown near the Jagadhri bus stand turned into a crime scene today when two unidentified miscreants opened fire, injuring a security guard. The incident took place at around 3:15 pm, causing panic in the area.
According to reports, two individuals arrived at the liquor warehouse (L-1) on a motorcycle. While one of them remained outside with the engine running, the other entered the premises and began firing multiple rounds.
Security guard Rai Singh, who was on duty at the time, was struck by a bullet near his ear. Despite his injury, he retaliated by firing back, prompting the attackers to flee the scene.
Upon receiving information about the incident, additional superintendent of police (ASP) Srishti Gupta and deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Rajiv Miglani rushed to the spot. The police conducted a thorough inspection and gathered information from the employees present at the godown. They also secured CCTV footage from the cameras installed outside the warehouse to aid in the investigation.
Speaking to the media, ASP Srishti Gupta confirmed that a case had been registered and multiple police teams had been deployed to track down the culprits. “Several teams have been formed to search for the miscreants. Soon, this case of firing will be solved, and the culprits will be arrested,” she assured.
The injured security guard was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Yamunanagar for medical treatment. His condition is reported to be stable.
The police are actively investigating the incident, and further developments are expected as efforts to apprehend the attackers continue.
