HYDERABAD: Telangana Jagruthi president and BRS MLC K Kavitha will stage a day-long hunger strike at Indira Park on Tuesday, demanding the govt to install a statue of Jyotirao Phule on the premises of Telangana assembly.
Earlier, the BRS leader urged the Speaker and demanded the state govt to ensure the installation of the statue ahead of Phule's birth anniversary on April 11. With no action taken so far, she is set to lead the protest to honour Phule's legacy and his contributions to social justice.

As part of a sustained political campaign spanning over 14 roundtable meetings across Telangana, MLC Kavitha launched and led an unprecedented movement for the rights of Backward Classes.
She conducted extensive consultations across districts in Telangana to amplify BC concerns and demanded the implementation of the Kamareddy BC Declaration as promised by the Congress party during the assembly elections.
