Kolkata: State education minister Bratya Basu on Tuesday said the affected teachers should reciprocate the empathy shown by CM Mamata Banerjee and return to schools. Basu stated, "The CM is viewing this matter from a humanitarian perspective. She has assured her support. What others say is their personal taste."
Asked whether there will be a meeting with the qualified but unemployed SSC candidates, Basu said, "We are legally examining the departmental role." Responding to a question about many teachers not attending school, Basu said, "What the CM has said should be considered final. What the aspirants are doing or not doing is their matter. I extend my solidarity by saying everyone should attend school and respond. We will provide them legal help in every way possible, and that assistance will continue if they respond."
Regarding reports that a teacher came to join Kamala Girls' School (in Belgachhia) but was not allowed to enter, Basu said, "I believe if there is any politics behind this, it should not exist. The local authority should comply with the SC's verdict. This incident is unintended."
Basu added, "There will be no delay in release of the Madhyamik and HS results. I have spoken to board members and I hope they will announce the result dates soon."
