Goof-up in LU fee portal causes confusion, protest

Lucknow: Despite paying their full annual fees during first-semester admissions, several students at Lucknow University were shocked to see the university portal showing their fees as unpaid on Tuesday.
This led to confusion and unrest among students.
Several affected students also shared their frustration. Shreya Singh, a second-year BA student, said, "I paid the entire annual fee in the first semester. Now, out of nowhere, the portal shows Rs. 2,000 as pending. I hope the university takes necessary steps." Pratyush Yadav, a BSc student, said, "We were told it was a one-time payment. I paid Rs. 2,000 again just to avoid issues. I hope the university reimburses the extra amount I have paid."
Members of the NSUI also held a protest outside the administrative block and the VC office. "We demand a thorough probe and reimbursement for those who've been forced to pay again." said NSUI's national coordinator Prince Prakash.
LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava said, "The matter has come to the notice of the university. We are looking into the concerns raised and appropriate action will be taken if required."
