Lucknow: Demanding an ex gratia of Rs 10 crore and govt job to the kin of each of the 26 people killed in
Pahalgam terror attack,
Samajwadi Party national president
Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said people of the country want to know how the terrorists reached the attack site.
"Everybody has come to know that the terror attack was a result of govt failures. There was an intelligence failure. Those injured in the attack did not get timely medical help. Now, people are looking for unanswered questions of Pulwama attack," Akhilesh said.
"The govt must offer ex gratia of Rs 10 crore to the kin of the deceased and a govt job for one person in the family," he added.
Earlier, Akhilesh took on the central govt for issuing an advisory to media to avoid live coverage of defence operations as it might help hostile elements. "Was granting permission for live coverage a strategic negligence or motivated by political propaganda," he asked in a post on X.
He said live coverage of defence operations would give away sensitive information about security forces and their strategy which would put security of the country at risk.
‘Expose BJP's propaganda'
Lucknow: Charging the BJP govt at the Centre and in UP of indulging in "propaganda" instead of addressing the real issues on ground, SP president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday asked members of party's youth wing – Mulayam Singh Youth Brigade – to fan out among the people and expose "BJP's hypocrisy".
He said the BJP was not addressing rising unemployment despite the fact that it was depriving the marginalised sections of reservation benefits. "Instead, BJP's propaganda is focusing on Mudra loan which too has failed to deliver. Govt claims to have given away Rs 33 lakh crore to 52 crore people. If each of those who got the loan gave employment to one person, unemployment would have been tackled. If there is unemployment, it means the claims of Mudra loan's success are hollow," he said, asking functionaries to create awareness among people.
