Sufficient water in district reservoirs: Hassan DC
Hassan: With the heat waves increasing in the district, deputy commissioner C Sathyabhama directed the authorities concerned to take necessary measures to prevent untoward incidents.
The DC held a meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee at the DC office on Saturday and said that although the summer has approached and the temperature increased, there is sufficient water in the district's reservoirs, so there will be no shortage of drinking water this summer.
The officer advised the fire department to be vigilant and take immediate action in case of any accidental fires due to the rising heat. She also instructed the forest department officials to take preventive measures to avoid any incidents in the forest areas of Sakleshpur during the summer.
Sathyabhama also directed officials that water be made available for animals and birds in the troughs constructed under the NREGA scheme in rural areas.
The DC assured that there would be no shortage of fodder and drinking water for livestock and instructed that if any health issues arise among people during the summer, doctors should respond promptly and provide treatment.
Additional superintendent of police Venkatesh Naidu and assistant commissioner Shruti were present in the meeting.
