2 dead, 5 injured as tractor-trolley carrying marriage party overturns in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district

VIJAYAWADA: At least two children were killed and five others injured when a tractor-trolley carrying a marriage party overturned near Vinnakota village in Gudlavalleru mandal, Krishna district, on Thursday.The deceased were identified as M. Arun (16) and K. Abhishek (15), both residents of Vinnakota, died on the spot.According to the police, the accident occurred on Thursday evening while the group was travelling to Gajulapadu village in Nandiwada mandal for the wedding of Ch. Adham’s daughter. Around 20 people from Vinnakota were in the vehicle at the time of the incident.Preliminary investigation suggests the driver lost control of the vehicle while using a mobile phone, causing the trolley to overturn in a nearby field.Five others sustained injuries in the accident. Among them, M. Ravi Kumar and K. Nagaraju suffered serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Gudivada.Police have registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
