Sunny Deol, known for his fiery and intense screen presence, has candidly opened up about his on-screen image. According to the actor, that audiences connect more with his angry persona than his romantic side.
While promoting his latest action-packed film Jaat, Deol shared how his characters’ emotional honesty, especially when expressing rage, connects deeply with the audience. “People mostly remember when I stand up and fight for something in films. When I’m romancing someone, no one recalls that,” Sunny remarked in an interview with Bollywood Life.
Speaking about his approach to playing angry characters, he emphasized the emotional foundation behind such performances. “Every emotion has its place. Anger comes when something truly bothers you, and I try to bring that authenticity to my characters,” he said. Deol’s latest role as Balbir Singh in Jaat is another powerful portrayal of a man seeking justice.

Acting with Spontaneity and Honesty
Sunny also opened up about the craft of acting and the spontaneity that comes with honest performance. He claimed that he knew when he was doing something wrong or right, but aditted that 'once something works in a moment, it’s hard to recreate it'. According to the actor, being emotionally present is more important than technical precision.

The film has been performing well at the box office. After making its debut with a collection of Rs 9.5 crore, the film saw some growth at the box office, earning an estiamted 3-day total of Rs 26 crore net. While the numbers are good, the film has not managed to meet the hype and excitement surrounding his previous release Gadar 2 which crossed the Rs 600 crore mark at the box office.
