Deepika Padukone faced backlash from the internet when she didn't praise Priyanka Chopra, netizens called her 'insecure'

Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra shared screen space in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani', which also starred Ranveer Singh. While Deepika played Mastani in the movie, Priyanka played Kashibai. In an old interview, Deepika was clearly asked about her experience of working with Priyanka. Responding to it, she had said, "It's fun working with people, and it's always fun collaborating with people. It's fun collaborating with people who have the same vision for whatever it is you are trying to create."
As the video went viral, netizens could see that Deepika did not say Priyanka's name and said 'people'. They felt that she did not praise her. Here's how they reacted. A user said, "This is not the first time she is doing this, someone asked her about her International career and she started throwing shade at PC, saying something like I will not marry someone who is not Indian and something like cultural values and other shit… totally shading PC. Gawd hate that mean person! She should be called out multiple times."
Another one wrote, "It might have been Bajirao Mastani but it was Kashibai that stole the show. Priyanka really ate that role up. Deepika is still salty about that."
A user said, "Why does she keep saying 'people like that'. Why can't she just say Priyanka when the interviewer clearly mentioned Priyanka?" Another user said, "It's weird that she has a hard time saying good things about any of her competitors. I know PC, Katrina and even Alia have praised others from time to time without hesitation. I know Kangana has the plot now but even she has openly praised top actresses."

However, Deepika and Priyanka shared a great rapport with each other on 'Koffee With Karan'. Infact, the internet appreciated how Priyanka defended Deepika when Karan was constantly asking her about relationship status with Ranveer, when they were not married.
