Vineet Kumar Singh rose to fame with 'Mukkabaaz', showcasing both his acting and writing skills. He has impressed audiences with roles in 'Gangs of Wasseypur', 'Superboys of Malegaon', and 'Chhaava'. Recently, in an interview, he talked about his audition for 'Chhaava'.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Vineet revealed that he did not audition for the role of Kavi Kalash in 'Chhaava'. He shared that director Laxman Utekar and others were convinced he was the right fit, saying, "Laxman Sir said, 'I can only see you as Kavi Kalash Ji.'" Despite lacking references from the period, Singh's unique presence made him ideal for the role, which he portrayed without prior similar work, except for a different role in Upanishad Ganga.
The actor further stated, "This look didn't exist anywhere, but Laxman Sir saw something in me and made this decision. The process was unique—Kavi Kalash Ji was both a warrior and a poet." He explained that such characters in the past required physical training, which included learning to wield a lathi, spear, sword, and ride a horse. Simultaneously, he studied poetry. This dual training process continued alongside the shoot, which lasted about 11 months.
Vineet delivers an impressive performance in 'Chhaava' as Kavi Kalash, a poet and warrior in the court of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. His character stands as a symbol of loyalty, wisdom, and resilience, remaining by the king's side until the end. To prepare for the role, Singh underwent intense physical training in sword fighting, spear combat, and horse riding, while also immersing himself in poetry.
