Significance of Hanuman Jayanti

Hanuman Jayanti, also known as Hanuman Janmotsav, is said to be the day Lord Hanuman was born to Anjani and Kesari. It is said that with the blessings of Vayu Dev, the God of Wind, Lord Hanuman was born, and thus he is called ‘Pavan Putra?or the son of wind.
As Lord Hanuman’s life went on, he quickly became a symbol of mischief, strength, devotion, loyalty, and of course, resilience.
Be it the stories from his childhood where he tried to eat the sun, or his heroics from the Ramayan, Lord Hanuman is an important part of the epics. He helped Lord Ram rescue Mata Sita from Ravan, burned down Lanka, carried an entire mountain to save Lakshman, and so much more. And soon he became the symbol of selfless service and dedication.
