Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill is maintaining his focus on winning matches in IPL 2025, as his team secured consecutive victories against Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru after an opening loss to Punjab Kings, placing them fourth in the IPL points table.
The team began their campaign with a defeat in a high-scoring match against Punjab Kings before bouncing back with wins against Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Following GT's eight-wicket victory over RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday, Gill shared on social media platform X: "Eyes on the game, not the noise."
Gill's appointment as GT captain came after Hardik Pandya's return to Mumbai Indians. Under Pandya's leadership, GT had achieved remarkable success, winning the IPL in their debut season in 2022 and finishing as runners-up in 2023.

The team faced challenges in the previous season, finishing eighth. They have undergone a squad rebuild following the mega auction last year.
"It's a bit surprising every time we come here, sometimes wicket is really good – looks like a 250 wicket and sometimes there's something in it for the seamers with the new ball," Gill commented at the post-match presentation regarding the M Chinnaswamy Stadium pitch conditions.

The team's fielding showed room for improvement as they dropped two catches during the match. While Phil Salt's dropped catch had minimal impact, Liam Livingstone capitalised on his early reprieve at 9 runs to score a half-century.
"You are definitely disappointed but that's the thing you always talk about that you should keep coming back at them even if you make mistakes. You have to grab the next opportunity that comes to you," Gill addressed the fielding lapses.
