Irish fighter Conor McGregor has been making headlines recently owing to his political posts directed towards the Irish government, as well as his repeated pitch to run for the presidential post of the country. Being a part-owner of the BKFC, the fighter was also seen promoting the events of the company globally. As part of this world tour, the fighter-turned-promoter flew to Dubai for the BKFC 71, where he was attacked by a mystery man towards the end of the event. Fans have immediately started speculating as to who this could be.

Michael Chandler and Khabib Nurmagomedov gets dragged as fans comment on the enraged attack on Conor McGregor

It’s been almost 4 years since Conor McGregor was seen fighting, and fans were almost on edge when the Notorious was just inches away from getting involved in a BKFC brawl. On April 4, 2025, McGregor arrived in Dubai for the BKFC 71, an event that marks the promotion’s entry into the Middle Eastern market. Towards the end of the event, when the promoters were vacating the venue, an enraged audience member rushed towards McGregor, who was then signing for a fan, but was intervened in between by the security personnel.

The Notorious, as seen in the footage, was intrigued by the incident and was eager to see who the attacking individual was. The incident, however, was hilariously interpreted by the fans of the combat sports all over the social media platform X.

Fans react to the enraged audience’s attack

Members and fans of the combat sports community have not seen The Notorious within the ring for a very long time. The short brawl at BKFC 71 led to the formation of an opinion thread where the fans had their share of hilarious takes on the entire incident.
One of the fans wrote, “Conor was wanting a piece”

Another one wrote, “why does conor look like the most civilized here lmfao”

A fan even dragged in Michael Chandler, who had waited a long time for McGregor to get back into the ring ever since the latter pulled out of their scheduled bout at UFC 303, “@MikeChandlerMMA Connors only fight this year”

Another user even went on to refer to the Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor public feud, when the latter launched an attack on the bus carrying Khabib’s team as a response to the Dagestani fighter slapping Artem Lobov, a member of McGregor’s team,
“@TeamKhabib sent an assassin but conor doesnt hide in a bus like a daggy coward. Sláinte @TheNotoriousMMA”

Fans, however, have started speculating if this incident would instigate the itch in him to get back in the ring anytime soon.
