When someone compared the 'Tush Push' to childbirth, Jason Kelce delivered a savage reply

Jason Kelce humorously compares the NFL’s ‘tush push’ play to childbirth, responding to Ryan Fitzpatrick’s playful challenge. Kelce prefers a career of ‘tush pushes’ over giving birth. The discussion arose after NFL debates on the play's potential ban. Also, Kelce's family recently welcomed their fourth daughter, adding a light-hearted touch to the conversation.

Jason Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles' stalwart lineman, recently gave his take on a highly unusual comparison: the NFL's infamous "tush push" versus the pain of childbirth. This lighthearted debate started when retired NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick—who has seven children of his own—posted a playful challenge to Kelce on social media.

Jason Kelce's Take on the "Tush Push" vs. Childbirth

On April 3, Fitzpatrick, 42, shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) following Jason's recent comments about the controversial "tush push" play. "Enjoyed your analogy of the tush push strain @JasonKelce and also congrats on the new baby," Fitzpatrick wrote. "That led me to thinking, what would YOU say is easier?” Fitzpatrick then humorously asked if it was “a woman having a baby” or “you blocking a season’s worth of tush pushes.”

Kelce, who has made his mark with this uniquely effective play, wasted no time in responding. "Oh man, hate to say, but it isn’t even close,” Jason wrote. “I’ll take an entire career of tush pushes over giving birth. F*** that.” His blunt yet funny response not only solidified his confidence in the play, but also drew a lot of attention due to its raw humor.

This exchange between Fitzpatrick and Kelce came shortly after a segment on the brothers' popular "New Heights" podcast, where Jason and his brother Travis discussed the possibility of banning the "tush push." This play, in which multiple teammates push the quarterback into the opposing defensive line when minimal yardage is needed, has sparked a debate around the NFL. Some argue that it could lead to injuries or give teams an unfair advantage, while others, like Jason, feel the risk of injury is overstated. "Saying that it’s going to lead to more injuries is pure conjecture, not rooted in fact," Jason said during the podcast, emphasizing that the only reason some want it banned is for competitive advantage.
As for Fitzpatrick's post, it touched on another significant part of Jason's life—his growing family. Jason and his wife, Kylie, welcomed their fourth daughter, Finnley “Finn” Anne, on March 30, making him a father of four. Kylie, 33, also took to her own podcast, “Not Gonna Lie,” to share her postpartum experiences and lightheartedly referenced her own “tush push” during childbirth. "I don’t know that people who have not felt this necessarily want to know this,” Kylie shared, reflecting on the intense pressure during labor. She added humorously, “Then you’re like, ‘Get them back in here now.’”

Jason’s funny response to Fitzpatrick’s challenge sheds light on his ability to balance his role as an NFL icon with his newfound duties as a dad. While the “tush push” is still a hot topic in football circles, it’s clear that Jason Kelce has embraced fatherhood with as much enthusiasm as his on-field victories, keeping the atmosphere light and humorous for both fans and family alike.
