The American country singer and pro wrestler Mickie James has called unwanted attention to herself. After giving remarks about women’s ring gear on the March 20 episode of WWE LFG, many among the wrestling community and fans alike are not fully convinced with the veteran’s remarks as they call her out for stating hypocritical thoughts for the public to get convinced. With the rising clapbacks James received, Indie wrestler Maya World is one among many who have taken a jibe at James.

The online war that James found herself in began when she met WWE LFG star Zena Sterling. James took out the time to see the rising WWE talent after her match and had a few words to say to her. Amid the conversation with Sterling, she was praised by James, but she was later indirectly schooled by the veteran star as she compared modern-day wrestling with the good old days, especially unnecessary remarks on the evolution of women’s ring gear.

James originally stated on-air, “I lived during the Diva era, and we fought very, very hard to not have to wrestle in lingerie anymore. Since because I am a female, I can speak on this. It’s very frustrating when women go out there and wrestle and all I see is their ass… You want to be taken seriously as a wrestler, but you are pretty much wrestling in jazzed-up lingerie.”

Clapping back at James, Indie wrestler Maya took to her X account to post a video of the veteran star’s wrestling days; she captioned the post as, “ass cheeks out (sorry Mickie), knee sleeves sliding down, hair blowing in the wind , getting kicked in the head, like it was that serious.”
There is no denial that fans were quick to call out the hypocrisy in the veteran wrestler’s remarks to Sterling, as the lashing out of fans is quite evident with the comments fans had on World’s post since they appreciated the indie wrestler’s calculated move to get back to James.
