WWE adds another match between Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41

As WWE is just a few weeks away from WrestleMania 41, WWE has recently added another match between top-tier talents Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano at the upcoming Show of Shows, which is scheduled to be held on April 19, 2025, and April 20, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano appeared on the April 7th edition of WWE RAW, when the Hall of Famer approached WWE RAW manager Adam Pearce to put him in a match with El Grande Americano. Following this request, Adam Pearce announced a match between them.
WWE has officially announced the match, however, the date has not been finalized yet, as it will take place on the first or the second day of WrestleMania 41.

WWE has just confirmed that Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano are all set to lock horns at the upcoming WrestleMania 41, after their RAW match in Minneapolis.

The tension escalated as Rey Mysterio set his sights on El Grande Americano following a controversial win in a recent tag team match. As per airports, over the past few weeks, Chad Gable has been masquerading the garb of El Grande Americano, wearing an American Made branded luchador mask.
However, on last week’s edition of RAW, Gable used the mask to his advantage as he slipped a piece of metal into it before using it as a weapon to headbutt Mysterio and Dragon Lee.
Following this incident, Rey Mysterio approached Raw General Manager Adam Pearce in his office. Initially, Pearce assumed that Mysterio wanted a match against Gable sometime soon. But, Mysterio revealed that he doesn’t specifically want a match against Gable, but wants to seek revenge against El Grande Americano.

Pearce, out of his respect for Mysterio, allowed the WWE Hall of Famer to name the time and place. But Mysterio chose the WrestleMania 41 platform, adding another match to the Show of Shows.
Besides these, it has also come to light that the upcoming bout between Mysterio and El Grande Americano will be a standard singles match rather than a traditional mask vs. mask encounter.

As the tension in WWE’s Lucha division is rising, fans can expect an intense rivalry and a bout between the two heavyweight wrestlers at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada, Las Vegas.
