GTA 6 Trailer 2 dropped earlier this week and within 24 hours of the release, the trailer has set new watch records. Developer Rockstar Games launched the second trailer of GTA 6 on May 6. The trailer had gained more than 475 million views across platforms including YouTube, Rockstar told The Hollywood Reporter on May 7. The company says the trailer launch is the biggest video debut ever.
For comparison, the first GTA 6 trailer, released in 2023, drew 93 million views in its first 24 hours. Other trailers to record highest watch time include the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer that racked up 365 million views, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps which debuted with over 200 million views in the same time frame.
At the time of writing, the trailer has received more than 84 million views on YouTube.

GTA 6 Trailer 2 soundtrack sees huge spike in Spotify streams
The soundtrack used in the GTA 6 trailer, "Hot Together" by The Pointer Sisters (written by Sharon Robinson), also saw its streams rise by 182,000% on Spotify after the trailer’s release, the report stated.
Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s global head of editorial, said in a statement, “Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else. Music has been synonymous with the series since the beginning, so it’s good to see fans both new and old connecting with this track.”
GTA 6 launch date, gameplay and more
Rockstar Games announced the release date of GTA 6. In a statement on X, the developer wrote “Grand Theft Auto VI is now set to release on May 26, 2026.” Acknowledging the excitement around the game’s release among its fanes, the company said “The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team.”
“We are very sorry that this is later than you expected,” the post further added.
GTA 6 is set in Vice City. As per the trailer, even though the game takes place mainly in Vice City, players can also visit at least five other areas: Ambrosia, Grassrivers, Leonida Keys, Mount Kalaga, and Port Gellhorn.
The new trailer also introduces more characters, such as Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre'Quan Priest, Raul Bautista, and Real Dimez.
