While walking the red carpet at SNL50: The Anniversary Special, Fineman—known for her spot-on impersonations of stars like Drew Barrymore and Britney Spears—confessed that capturing the former One Direction star’s voice has proven to be a challenge. Despite her efforts, she hasn’t been able to perfect the accent or delivery of the Grammy-winning artist.
Harry Styles Wasn’t Impressed
Though Fineman didn’t specify what sketch she was attempting the impression for, she recalled that Styles’ reaction was far from positive. “It was immense—but not in a good way,” she admitted.
Styles, who made his SNL hosting debut in 2019, never appearet in a skit alongside Fineman, according to The Hollywood Reporter. However, that hasn’t stopped the SNL star from trying to crack his unique mannerisms and vocal style.
While she may not have mastered Styles just yet, Fineman’s impressive catalog of celebrity impressions keeps fans entertained—and perhaps one day, she’ll finally get the As It Was singer just right!
Talking about it, she said "[My impersonation of] Harry Styles is really bad," she told SNL50 correspondent Amelia Dimoldenberg. "I did it and he was like at the table and was so devastated by how bad it was." However, some of her impressions really do hit the mark — at least, according to Jojo Siwa. Except for the dancing, which could have been more "full out," Siwa said "everything was perfect" in Fineman's Nov. 16 impersonation of her auditioning for Wicked.
