Hilaria Baldwin on her unique bond with stepdaughter Ireland; ‘We’ve never fought’

Hilaria Baldwin is getting candid about her special relationship with her stepdaughter, Ireland Baldwin. Despite being only 11 years apart, the two women have formed a close and easygoing bond—one that Hilaria admits is quite different from the typical stepmother-stepdaughter dynamic.
On the March 23 episode of The Baldwins podcast, Hilaria, 41, opened up about how they’ve embraced their age gap with humor rather than awkwardness.
What makes their relationship even more special is that they both became moms around the same time. Hilaria and her husband, Alec Baldwin, welcomed their youngest daughter, Ilaria Catalina Irena, in September 2022. Just months later, Ireland, 29, gave birth to her first child, Holland, in May 2023 with her boyfriend, musician RAC (born André Allen Anjos).
Because they both have young babies, meeting up hasn’t been easy. Hilaria explained that even though Alec had already met his granddaughter, she hadn’t had the chance to see Holland in person until Ireland’s recent trip to New York.
Hilaria also reflected on the early days of her relationship with Alec, revealing that she was determined not to disrupt his family. She made it clear from the start that if Ireland didn’t accept her, she wouldn’t stay.
She added that while she loved Alec, she had too much respect for his family to force her way into a dynamic that didn’t feel right.
Hilaria also acknowledged that she was fortunate to come into Alec’s life at a time when tensions from his past had settled. Alec and Kim Basinger, Ireland’s mother, had a very public and messy divorce in 2002. But by the time Hilaria entered the picture, things had smoothed out.
