Comedian Samay Raina has finally broken his silence on the India’s Got Latent controversy, expressing regret over how the situation unfolded. As the debate around the reality show settles, Raina issued an official statement addressing the matter.
In his statement to the authorities, he acknowledged his mistake, saying, “I will be careful next time such a thing does not happen again. My mental state is not well due to this whole case. My Canada tour also did not go well. I am sorry for what I said, I know what I said is wrong.”
The controversy impacted not only his public image but also his professional commitments. Raina had initially delayed his return to India and rescheduled his India tour. Taking to Instagram Stories, he informed fans about the change, assuring them that refunds would be processed. He wrote, “Hello guys, I’m rescheduling my India tour. You all will get refunds shortly, see you soon.”

Following the backlash, the National Commission for Women (NCW) and the Maharashtra Cyber Cell took legal action, summoning the show’s creators for statements. While Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija complied with NCW’s summon, Raina initially missed the hearing due to his Canada tour. After failing to appear on March 19, he was instructed to present himself on March 24. Despite requesting to record his statement via video conferencing, his plea was denied.
