Mumbaikars can now take harbour line trains to Goregaon

The much-delayed CSMT-Goregaon harbour line service was inaugurated at Goregaon. The
harbour line corridor used to terminate at Andheri on Western Railway. Regular services
will commence from April 1. As many as 42 train services will operate between Goregaon-
CSMT and seven between Goregaon and Churchgate. According to officials, there are plans to
extend services till Borivali in the future, in an effort to decongest the Churchgate-
Borivali trains. Western Railways currently operates over 1,300 daily services between
Churchgate and Dahanu to cater to 37 lakh commuters.
