Turkey's Big Statement Amid India-Pak Clash; Remark After Erdogan's Call With Sharif

Amid escalating clashes between India and Pakistan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued a fresh statement expressing concern. Referring to the ongoing tensions, Erdogan said Turkey is worried that the India-Pakistan conflict could turn into a hot war. His remarks followed a phone call with Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. According to the Turkish Presidency, Erdogan backed what he called Pakistan’s “restrained” stance. The timing and tone of the statement have raised eyebrows in India, especially given Turkey’s history of vocal support for Pakistan on regional issues.
