High alert in Mantralaya

Raichur: After the recent terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Kashmir, police intensified security at Mantralaya, a religious location where the Brindavan of Sri Raghavendra Swamy is situated. Local police from Mantralayam and Madhavaram conducted thorough inspections of the Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt and its surroundings. To ensure safety, both dog and bomb squads are actively performing checks. Searches were carried out in various areas, including the mutt, dining hall, Tungabhadra riverbank, bus stand, and hostels, with particular attention given to the bags of any suspicious devotees. The management board of the Mantralaya Mutt was advised to enhance security protocols due to the influx of thousands of visitors. However, police officials have not released any formal statements, indicating that these actions are merely precautionary.
