"I'm not a side piece": When Travis Hunter's fiancée Leanna Lenee defended herself after trolls accused her of "ignoring" the Heisman winner

Travis Hunter, the latest recipient of the prestigious Heisman Trophy, is on his way to becoming one of the top picks in the NFL. However, things were not all rosy in his life a few months ago when his relationship with fiancee, Leanna Lenee, was in the spotlight and she was getting trolled by fans. To defend herself, Travis Hunter’s fiancee, Leanna Lenee, had released a statement in December 2024 where she revealed a lot of insights about their relationship.


In December 2024 in an eight minute video on TikTok, Travis Hunter’s fiancee, Leanna Lenee, spoke about an accusation that she carried with herself for months - leaving Travis Hunter in her DM for months.
Travis Hunter’s fiancee, Leanna Lenee, justified her actions and said, “So, Travis, when he first ever DM'd me, when we first met, I left him in my DM for two months. People said, 'Oh, she left him in his DM until she figured out who he was.' That is not true at all”
Leanna Lenee added, "The real reason Travis sat in my DM for two months is because he DM'd me when he had a girlfriend, and her name was in his bio. So I instantly knew he had a partner. I exited the message, and he sat there until he was single.”
Travis Hunter’s fiancee, Leanna Lenee made it very clear in her statement that she is not a “homewrecker” and she supports women. She added, “I don't do homewrecking. I'm not a side piece…I would never do that to another woman because I would never want it done to me…That's the real reason he sat in my DM."
However, Leanna Lenee’s video statement faced more criticism as fans felt she blamed Travis Hunter for it. Leanna Lenee had also made it clear in the video that she is opening about their relationship only after she discussed it with Travis Hunter. But it seems like her statements fell on deaf ears as she continued to get trolled.
Three months later, things are finally calm in the lives of Travis Hunter and Leanna Lenee. Both of them have decided to keep things private and away from social media.


In January, on an episode of The Travis Hunter Show, Travis Hunter spoke about not being on social media and keeping things private. He also revealed that the whole ordeal had left an impact on him and he is now “scared” of people.
Travis Hunter also revealed that he has now hired a bodyguard to keep himself protected around his haters.
The two are slated to get married in a few months.
