CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh police booked a person for allegedly taking nine loans for buying TV ,mobiles from a non-banking finance company (NBFC) using forged documents. No arrest was made in the case so far.
Adarsh Bhardwaj, a representative of Bajaj Finance Limited, stated that the company is in the finance business and extends various types of loans, such as personal loans, consumer durable loans, business loans, and term loans, to its customers as per their requirements and subject to meeting the criteria of the complainant company.
The complainant stated that the accused, Irfan Ali, a resident of Zirakpur, allegedly availed nine loans from the company for purchasing consumer durables and mobile phones from various dealers in Chandigarh. Based on the KYC provided by the accused, the company provided finance to the accused person.
During an internal audit, the complainant came to know that the accused, Irfan Ali, forged
PAN cards of other persons with the intention to procure the nine loans. Thus, it was revealed that the accused cheated the company and caused wrongful loss to the company by procuring loans by submitting fake and forged documents.
The complainant filed a complaint at the SSP public window, and the SSP forwarded the complaint to Sector 19 for further investigation. After thoroughly verifying the facts, the Sector 19 police registered a case against the alleged person, Irfan Ali, under the sections of BNS. No arrest was made in the case so far.
