3 arrested in judge’s house burglary in Bidar
Bidar: Three members of Pardi gang were arrested in Maharashtra on Tuesday for allegedly burgling the house of a judge on Janwada Road in Bidar on March 31. The accused, including a man and his son from Aurangabad, Maharashtra, broke into vacant house of second additional civil and JMFC-2 Court Judge MD Shaiz Chauthai at night. They forcibly opened a cabinet, and made off with gold and silver jewellery. One accomplice from Madhya Pradesh remains at large. Police recovered stolen goods valued at Rs 1.7 lakh, comprising gold chains, bangles, silver ornaments, and tools used for the burglary, SP Pradeep Gunti said. The investigation, which involved three police teams, led to the suspects' arrest at Udagir railway station in Maharashtra, aided by CCTV footage and intelligence from the AI command centre. The suspects surveyed the judge's residence for several days, travelling daily by train from Maharashtra, before committing the burglary. They also committed a theft in Vikarbad, Telangana, on the same day. The investigation team, led by police inspector Vijayakumar and PSI Prabhakar Patil, included personnel from the new city and Gandhiganj stations. SP Pradeep Gunti said due to Bidar's proximity to Maharashtra and Telangana, criminals frequently exploit road routes for escape. In response, six checkpoints and five inter-district posts have been established to operate continuously.
